The Calling

Skkkkreee.
He could hear it again – as if something was scurrying across the ceiling. Lying down on the adjustable bed, his green eyes traced the constantly changing pattern of the dynamic screen, trying to find the source of the sound but knowing that he would fail anyway.
“Are you hearing that sound again, Mr. Raynott?”
“Yes,” he replied with a sigh. Turning to the woman seated to his right, he smiled. “Just call me Kylan, Dr. Anjoul.”
“Alright then… Kylan.” She looked up from the thin tablet in her palm, offering him a smile. R

Hunger
A wave of hunger crashes into me
Nothing like I ever felt before
The urgency in the voices of my head are getting louder
The first cut never feels enough
The devils are still aiming their arrows toward my heart
Control is long gone and has left me alone
I can’t recognize my own body anymore
So many scars, so many reasons
Guilt and shame hits me hard
There is no obstacle to hide behind
But i’m hungry for the pain that can silence my raging mind

Stray Dog
Stray dog
Walking cautiously down the dark street
Where are you gonna sleep tonight?
Stray dog
With matted hair and sore feet
Where are you gonna sleep tonight?
There's no one out here to protect you
How did you wind up here?
Did your owners so carelessly abandon you?
Is that why your eyes are filled with fear?
Stray dog
You're in danger now
Some strangers aren't so kind
Stray dog
They'll find you somehow
Some strangers aren't so kind
Sentenced to a death camp
Why do you deserve this pain?
I pray that you escape from here
And don't die in vain
Stray dog
Thank god the heroes found you
You're lucky to be alive
Stray dog
The activists rescued

This is a dedication to today's most misunderstood dog breed: the American pitbull terrier. These dogs were once known as the "nanny dog" because they are extremely good with children. I've met many pitbulls, and the only harm they could bring to humans was whacking them via excessive tail wagging. Aside from the soreness that comes from happy tails, they're easy to get along with.

The “Nanny Dog” myth was started in 1971 by Lilian Rant, President of the Staffordshire Bull Terrier Club of America, in an attempt to save her failing puppy mill.
Continuing to parrot this ridiculous myth is endangering and killing children. They are bloodsport dogs, not pets.
